What is a BPSO?
Best Practice Spotlight Organizations (BPSOs) are organizations that evaluate and implement the RNAO BPGs. The purpose of this is to use the implementation of the BPGs to increase the knowledge capacity of nurses in a clinical or in the case of Trent, academic environment.

In a clinical setting, the main goal of a BPSO would be to raise awareness of and increase use of BPGs. Each spotlight organization has its own specific goals, usually based on a problem or important issue they wish to address. The TFSON, being the only academic BPSO, has a similar but somewhat different goal: to incorporate the BPGs into the nursing curriculum and to apply them into the University community. The BPGs are and will continue to be incorporated into assignments, lectures, projects, seminars and clinical practice experiences.
